Answer Sample Papers

As the famous adage says, “there is no elevator to success. You have to take the stairs.” This applies to the GMAT exam as well. Preparing for the test requires unwavering commitment and dedication. One of the best ways to prepare for the GMAT is to answer as many sample question papers as possible. For example, if you intend to take the exam in 2022, begin by preparing yourself with a GMAT sample paper 2020 or more recent ones or even much older sample papers. This will familiarize you with the syllabus and structure of the test.

“Practice, practice, and some more practice,” must be your mantra during the course of your preparation.

Begin Preparing In Advance

James Baker, a renowned US Politician, once said: “Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.” This holds particularly true for examinations such as the GMAT. Most aspirants are (or must be!) aware, the GMAT is divided into four sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning, and Analytical Writing Assessment.

Every section requires extensive study. Therefore, it is advisable to begin preparing for the exam at least six months before the chosen test date in order to make sure that you have adequate time to prepare and complete the entire GMAT syllabus. The quantitative reasoning section is often considered the hardest to answer by numerous students. Thus, commencing preparations in advance will provide you with enough time to sharpen your basic mathematical skills.

Create a Study Schedule

Former British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, famously stated: “Plan your work for today and every day, then work your plan.” Yes, preparing well for the GMAT exam is crucial. However, for your efforts to be fruitful, it is important to make a long-term (for five to six months at least) study schedule for yourself. Allotment of sufficient time to every section will ensure that you have a strong grasp of the various concepts that are covered in these sections; thereby, building your confidence across each section.

Choose the Right Test Date

While this tip may sound simple, it is far from it. Knowing the endpoint of any intended endeavor provides you with a fixed timeline around which you can plan your activities. This also holds true for competitive exams such as the GMAT. Therefore, it is important to pick the date on which you wish to take the test well in advance. For example, if you aim to take the test in the latter part of 2022,  go through the GMAT test dates 2022 and choose a date that is convenient for you. This will guarantee proper planning of your study schedule and optimum utilization of your time.

We hope that these tips will help you score better in the GMAT exam and help you get into your desired university or B-school. All the best!
